Created for sophisticated needs and heavy applications, bandwidth, and routing, this GDS basic solution includes FR, CC, IP, Ethernet over ATM, and X25 technologies, which offer a bandwidth capacity, from 64 kbps to 8 Mbps. However, higher bandwidth requests are considered on a case per case basis.

With a prime range of access equipment, GDS field engineers perform an on-site survey in which the most appropriate equipment is selected for the customer’s application by considering factors such as proximity to nearest GDS POP, transmission rate, and frequency allocation.

The next step is to install the Microwave Equipment; Outdoor Unit (ODU) is connected to the Indoor Unit (IDU) using all necessary grounding and cables. The IDU is then connected to the customer’s equipment (router switch or PC). Bandwidth starts with a 64 kbps link, and as the customer’s needs evolve, speed can reach up to 8 Mbps.
